PNHP-CA has regional chapters that provide local education and advocacy. Many now meet remotely which has helped us gather throughout our large state. Our chapters always welcome new members and new members often remark that it is gratifying to find a group of like-minded people so knowledgeable and passionate about healthcare reform.
If there is not an established chapter near you, it is easy to form one! A PNHP chapter charter can be signed with five members, with at least three physicians. To learn more about chapter formation, contact: organizer@pnhp.org

PNHP South Bay Chapter
The PNHP-South Bay Chapter includes members from Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz Counties. We work closely with other South Bay progressive organizations, some of which include: the South Bay Progressive Alliance and the South Bay Single Payer Health Care Coalition. Our Chair is Yusra Hussain, MD.
PNHP Bay Area
PNHP-Bay Area has been meeting monthly since the pre-ACA era.
We cover the greater Bay Area although we overlap with newer chapters in Marin and the South Bay.
Activities focus on education, organizing, and direct action when opportunities present.
We welcome PNHP members and students from anywhere; non-members are also welcome. Meetings are currently over Zoom on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10 AM to noon.
Current chapter coordinators are Hank Abrons, MD, MPH; Maziar Shirazi, MD; and Stephen Vernon, MFT.
PNHP Santa Barbara
PNHP Santa Barbara has members who live in and around Santa Barbara.
We have a monthly meeting with members of Healthcare for All on the third Wednesday of every month by Zoom at 7-8:30 PM.
We welcome all single payer supporters to join us.

PNHP Capital Chapter
The PNHP-CA Capital Chapter includes members from Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Nevada, El Dorado, and northern San Joaquin Counties and works to influence state legislators, attend relevant hearings, and the Governor’s Commission when these are physically held. Regular meetings were suspended at the outset of the pandemic and plans are underway to restart in December 2022.
Our most recent work has been to craft a world class single payer public health Neighborhood Assembly policy model to complement the California single payer bill AB1400.

PNHP Ventura
PNHP Ventura members hail mainly from Ventura County with a few members from Santa Barbara County. We partner and share membership with a local group of physicians working for single payer – Physicians for Progress Ventura County and hold joint meetings monthly. We generally meet the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00-8:30 PM but this can change based on active member availability. We meet via ZOOM every month with a quarterly option for an in person gathering at a member's home at 6:30 for dinner. We would love to have new members who wish to work in myriad ways for single payer join us.
PNHP Humboldt
Humboldt PNHP works cooperatively with the Humboldt chapter of Health Care For All. We welcome all Single Payer supporters. A monthly open meeting is scheduled on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 5:00-6:00 pm. Chapter co-chairs are Patty Harvey and Corinne Frugoni M.D.

PNHP Napa County has members from Napa and Sonoma counties. We join with our active local group of HealthCare for All members for our monthly meetings:
