Hospitals would receive global budgets, so it would be obvious if exorbitant amounts of money were going toward administrative salaries. Profit making intermediaries would be eliminated. Large amounts of health care dollars would not be drained from the system as profit. A non-profit single-payer system is not inherently perfect, but it is subject to much better control to ensure the welfare of patients and the wise expenditure of limited health care resources.
